Dr. Collins is an Interventional Cardiologist in private practice at Chesapeake Cardiac Care in Bowie, Maryland. She specializes in Clinical and Interventional Cardiology as well as Vascular Medicine. Dr. Collins earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University in Providence, RI, and her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. She completed her Internal Medicine training at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD, and her Cardiology fellowship at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center. She then went on to complete her Interventional Cardiology training at Washington Hospital Center.
Dr. Collins created the Capital Research Institute, founded to conduct cardiovascular clinical trials in Washington, D.C. She is widely published in several peer-reviewed medical journals. She has conducted research in a variety of subjects, including gender and racial disparities in cardiovascular disease.
